State Budget Update

(May 19, 2010)

What does the May Revision of the Governor's 2010-11 budget mean for K-12 education in California? EdSource's Deputy Director, Mary Perry, along with Mike Kirst, Ph.D. from Stanford School of Education, Kay Mathews, Vice Chair of Ernst & Young, and John Porter, Superintendent of Franklin McKinley School District were on a panel to discuss the state budget. This San Jose event was coordinated by the Silicon Valley Education Foundation and was moderated by John Fensterwald, writer of The Educated Guess.

Haertel (Stanford University) presented the framework, design, analysis, and findings of the recently-released study Gaining Ground in the Middle Grades. Neal D.
