2008-09 Funding

The 2008–09 state budget was the most delayed in California history.

Policymakers in Sacramento finally agreed on a spending plan in mid-September 2008, nearly three months after the fiscal year began on July 1. Five months later, on February 20, 2009, state leaders enacted revisions to that budget while also establishing a spending plan for 2009–10. To learn more about those spending decisions, see 2009 Budget Actions
