Community College Funding 2008–09: Enrollment Growth Outpaces Resources

January 2009

California community colleges are expected to provide a broad range of affordable educational opportunities.

But fulfilling this mission in 2008–09 will be especially difficult given the state’s dire fiscal situation and an increasing demand for the services community colleges provide. EdSource’s first issue brief on community college funding looks at the current enrollment pressures on community colleges and the resources available.

EdSource thanks the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for their investment in our core work.
