2004 CSTs show no improvement in achievement gaps from elementary to high school

The gaps in student performance on the English CST in 2004 are about the same in elementary, middle and high school. This shows that the performance of students who enter elementary school–including those who have been at a disadvantage historically– does not improve over time.
