Voters expecting tangible benefits from the passage of Proposition 30 may be disappointed. In an interview on KQED’s The California Report, EdSource Senior Reporter Kathryn Baron explains how much money the Proposition is expected to raise and how those funds are likely to be used.
Put simply, the funds from Prop. 30 will allow schools to “stay where they are,” says Baron. While schools won’t have to make further cuts to the school year, which was the expected reaction if Prop. 30 did not pass, they probably won’t be able reinstate previously cut programs either.
