Among California districts, 603 had low ratings for math or English language arts test scores (red or orange on their dashboard) for at least one ethnic or racial group. These districts must explain in their Local Control and Accountability Plans, or LCAPs, how they plan to improve the scores for those student groups. However, only districts with student groups that had low test scores combined with a low rating for another dashboard indicator, such as suspension rates, are designated to receive assistance from their county office of education.
